An Interview with Geoff Jamieson, Managing Director of Orcoda
Orcoda, for the second consecutive year, has been honoured with a place on the Australian Financial Review’s Fast 100 list of the fastest-growing companies in Australia.
What has driven Orcoda’s impressive 24.9% CAGR (FY22-24)?
It’s an honour to be recognised for the second consecutive year by the Australian Financial Review. Our growth has been driven by a few key factors. Firstly, our transport technologies have shown remarkable performance, with Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) increasing by $2.4 million to $6.4 million. This growth includes the successful implementation of our SaaS platform across community transport providers and enterprise clients like Northline, Comlink Australia, and Mini-Tankers/Refueling Solutions.
Additionally, the acquisition of Future Fleet significantly contributed to our revenue, particularly through the strong sales generated by the 3G to 4G/5G rollout ahead of the 3G network shutdown. On top of this, our infrastructure services team excelled in delivering large-scale contracts, including the $6.8 million Aurizon Newlands RCS signalling project—the largest contract to date for The Betta Group.
Provide an example of increased revenue from your transport technology solutions?
Additionally, we’ve seen success with our new carpooling management solution, which has been implemented to optimise fleet usage and reduce operational inefficiencies. This product is being taken up by multiple Local Government Authorities particularly in New Zealand.
Over the past year, has Orcoda rolled out any new products or upgrades to its offerings?
Innovation is at the heart of what we do at Orcoda. This year, we’ve delivered some exciting upgrades to our platform. For example, we introduced an event management module tailored for community transport providers, which allows them to seamlessly handle bookings for large group events.
We’ve also launched an AI driven recurring booking feature for our logistics management system, helping our customers streamline their operations even further. These enhancements reflect our commitment to ensuring customers can reach new heights of service delivery with our technology.
Where is Orcoda seeing the highest demand for its solutions?
We’re seeing strong demand across multiple sectors, but transport-specific businesses are particularly interested in leveraging digital transformation. Whether moving people, parcels or goods, companies recognise the value of reliable, real-time data for making better operational decisions.
We are also experiencing continued growth from multiple transport providers as they adapt to new digital innovation and digital transformation.
What is Orcoda’s Unique Selling Proposition (USP)?
Our USP is our software’s optimisation capabilities—The AI driven solve optimises the following: matching drivers across different rosters, matching fleet availability, matching right vehicle for the job, matching the booking of the people, parcels or goods with the right vehicle and the right driver, matching the pickup or delivery of people parcels or goods with a schedule that fits each driver and each vehicle, matching the schedule with the available routes, then maximisation the utilisation of each vehicle across the fleet and then applying the best solution across all of the different constraints encountered in the dauys schedule.
Once this solve is completed the schedule is sent to the driver telling them what vehicle is available, where the vehicle is, their schedule for the day, their compliance and governance requirements to meet chain of responsibility legislation which includes, no alcohol, no drugs, vehicle fit for purpose / safety and fatigue management.
Once the driver has met all the governance requirements which shows in our platform they can start their schedule on each route for pick up and delivery of each person, parcel or good.
This amazing Transport Booking System and Transport Management System linked into vehicle telematics and linked into our other USP (transport infrastructure) make us a critical partner for businesses seeking greater efficiency, lower costs, and a competitive advantage with a company that has the future in mind as well as the present.
Looking to the future, how does Orcoda plan to continue this momentum?
We are deeply committed to our vision of becoming a leading provider of AI-driven smart city transport solutions. The convergence of AI and digital twin technologies is reshaping how cities and transport infrastructures operate. Orcoda has positioned itself to lead this transformation.
Our strategy involves scaling growth across both our transport technology and transport infrastructure services divisions. We’re investing in developing simpler last-mile software solutions that blend seamlessly with existing telematics systems. At the same time, we’ll continue advancing our SaaS platforms in areas such as carpooling and in-vehicle fleet management.
We’re also doubling down on strategic investments in sales, marketing, technology, and talent. Collaborative partnerships remain a top priority, ensuring that we achieve shared growth objectives with our stakeholders.
What does this achievement mean for Orcoda’s stakeholders, including investors and customers?
Being listed on the AFR Fast 100 for the second year is a powerful validation of the hard work and dedication of the Orcoda team. For investors, this achievement reinforces Orcoda’s position as a high-growth, innovative company poised for even greater success. For our customers, it’s a testament to the value we bring to their operations by optimising processes and driving digital transformation.
