Congratulations to TransitCare who are a finalist in the iT NEWS Benchmark Awards for Best Sustainability Project.
ORCODA’s technology can now boast a confirmed sustainability achievement with our client TransitCare having recorded 34.2% less CO2 Emissions in 2021. With our focus on aggregation, ORCODA increased the utilisation of TransitCare’s fleet, allowing more trips to be delivered with existing resources.
Climate action is noted by the United Nations as humanity’s Code Red warning, and that our window to avoid climate catastrophe is closing rapidly. Therefore the recording and reporting of GHG emissions could not be more important for sustainability.
TransitCare and Orcoda jointly conducted a case study [download here] on the affect that technology has had on TransitCare’s capability to provide community transport services over the previous 5 years, which included their sustainability goal in recording and reporting CO2 Emission savings. This case study has been presented to the Community Transport industry and is supported by ACTA (Australian Community Transport Association) as best practice technology.
Closing the gap in poverty is also a sustainability goal for the United Nations. Community Transport is an essential service for a range of mobility impaired people who need to remain connected to their communities. This includes people without access to public transport, those socially isolated, or dealing with mental health challenges, people with disability and the elderly. TransitCare used the ORCODA Logistics Management System to optimise their operational efficiency and deliver an additional 46,000+ trips with their existing assets and resources. A tremendous sustainability achievement!
